In four decades with Brevard Insurance, Gil has amassed an invaluable store of experience and knowledge, not to mention licenses in property, casualty, and life insurance, and real estate on top of BBA and MBA degrees from Wake Forest University and the University of South Carolina respectively. As warm and friendly as he is knowledgeable, Gil sets a standard of customer service that challenges and inspires the whole agency. In his free time, Gil relishes reading mysteries and playing tennis.

Jay is the Agency Manager and oversees daily operations. Jay is licensed in North and South Carolina and can assist you with all your insurance needs. He currently holds licenses in property, casualty, life and health, and Medicare. Jay earned a Business Management degree from the University of South Carolina in 1999 and has been with the agency since 2001. In 2010 Jay became a Certified Insurance Counselor after his successful completion of an insurance education program sponsored by the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. Jay and wife Nora have a daughter named Charlotte and they enjoy a wide array of outdoor activities.

When Personal Lines and Life Insurance Specialist Ray Gill joined the agency in 2005, he revived our link with professional baseball. In 2005, Ray was drafted as a first baseman by the San Diego Padres after his graduation from Brevard College. Today, Ray brings the same fire and focus to his desk that he brought to the diamond. And he's not through with athletics. Ray is very involved with Brevard College, spending a lot of his free time helping out at various sporting events. He enjoys being a positive role model for young athletes providing private hitting lessons and coaching American Legion Baseball in the summers. He vigorously runs and works out; setting a fitness example for the rest of us.

Chad never dreamed he would join the insurance industry, but now that he has, he is constantly amazed by how his knowledge and willingness to serve benefit such a broad range of customers daily. Chad joined the agency in April of 2011 with a strong background in serving contractors, as evidenced by his time at Jennings Builders Supply and undergraduate degree from Western Carolina University in Construction Management. At Brevard Insurance, Chad's main focus is commercial accounts; be it sales or service, Chad is here to help. After hours, Chad spends most of his time with his wife, Erica, and dog, Avery. One of Chad's biggest outside interests is cycling—whether on the road or trail, he loves cycling. Appropriately, Chad is one of the founding members of the Pisgah Area Cycling club.

Meredith's experiences with previous employers, the American Red Cross and First Restoration Services, have positioned her perfectly to be our claims manager. Meredith joined the Agency in May of 2011. She graduated from Wingate University with a degree in Human Services and is happy to handle any service needs you may have. Outside of the office Meredith enjoys running, baking (which is why she runs), and reading. Meredith moved to the area to be with her husband Justin, a Brevard native, but has come to love Western North Carolina for both its breathtaking scenery and residents' laid-back-attitude.

Personal Lines Specialist Candice Freeman joined the Agency in 2009. From Mills River, NC, Candice graduated from West Henderson High and moved to Charlotte to graduate on the Dean's List of Excellence from King's College. Now in Brevard, she assists the Agency and our Insureds in various ways. She is typically the first person you see in our office and apt to handle any personal insurance inquiries you may have. Candice enjoys any day at work that she can leave feeling like she has been helpful to a customer, co-worker, or both. Once home, Candice happily spoils her dachshund Foxy and spends as much time outside as possible hiking, camping, or being on the lake or river.
