In four decades with Brevard Insurance, Gil has amassed an invaluable store of experience and knowledge, not to mention licenses in property, casualty, and life insurance, and real estate on top of BBA and MBA degrees from Wake Forest University and the University of South Carolina respectively. As warm and friendly as he is knowledgeable, Gil sets a standard of customer service that challenges and inspires the whole agency. In his free time, Gil relishes reading mysteries, playing tennis, and hiking Western North Carolina's breathtaking mountain trails.

Jay joined the agency in February 2001 - and loves it - after growing up thinking it was the last thing he'd do. Exemplifying the agency's emphasis on thorough qualifications, Jay holds licenses in property, casualty, and life, and a Business Management degree from the University of South Carolina. In January, 2004, he earned a Certificate in General Insurance from the Insurance Institute of America, and is working toward becoming a Certified Insurance Counselor. In his college years, Jay worked on charter fishing boats, making lasting friendships that now underpin a growing portfolio of marine and beach property insurance. When not at his desk, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife Nora in the mountains or at the beach.

When Personal Lines and Life Insurance Specialist Ray Gill joined the agency in 2005, he revived our link with professional baseball. In 2005, Ray was drafted as a first baseman by the San Diego Padres after his graduation from Brevard College. Today, Ray brings the same fire and focus to his desk that he brought to the diamond. And he's not through with athletics. Ray is very involved with Brevard College, spending a lot of his free time helping out at various sporting events. He enjoys being a positive role model for young athletes providing private hitting lessons and coaching American Legion Baseball in the summers. He vigorously runs and works out; setting a fitness example for the rest of us.

When Personal Lines Specialist Rose Canup joined the agency in 2002, she brought 22 years of industry experience with her. As our claims manager, Rose makes sure that things happen when and as they should. In Personal Lines sales, Rose splits the alphabet with fellow agent Angela Holladay. If your last name starts with M through Z, Rose stands ready to give you expert help with your home and auto insurance needs. A Brevard native, Rose is in love with the area's beauty, and she and her husband are avid hikers. Just ask, and Rose will gladly point you to the area's best trails.

A Commercial Lines Specialist, Melissa is our office ray of sunshine. She joined our agency in July of 2002 and - wasting no time - earned a Certificate in General Insurance from the Insurance Institute of America in May, 2004, and a Certified Insurance Service Representative Designation in 2005 from the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research. Melissa handles commercial account processing and assists with billing, claim, and policy inquiries. As the new mother of twins, Melissa's hobby of necessity is time management.
